ITOP A novel synthesized gastroprokinetic agent which simulates gastrointestinal motor activity through synergistic effects of dopamine D2-receptor blockade and acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Itopride was first developed by Hokuriku Seiyaker Co. Ltd. and has been marketed in Japan since Sept. 1995.
